Talking Through The Body: Revisioning Internal Rhetoric

  • Femme Fatale DC 3409 Connecticut Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20008 United States (map)

Our internal rhetoric has a significant impact on our external reality, how we respond to challenges and triumphs, and what we welcome into our worlds.

Talking Through The Body is a facilitated experience where you learn first-hand the scaffolding for a rhetoric-shifting practice that is reflexive and repeatable.

Without intentional care, our internal language of self-persusation can take on structures of:

  • Habitual thought patterns averse to friction

  • Survival responses

  • Risk-aversion

  • Fear vs Intuition arguments

  • Conditioned vs Deconditioned tit for tat

  • Mental intrusions thwarting forward progress

I've experienced them all, and I bet you have too.

Together, we’ll dedicate two hours of intentional care to our internal worlds, and you'll walk away empowered and equipped to meet intrusive internal rhetorical patterns through a system designed to recognize, disrupt, and reimagine.

In other words, we're cultivating a generative relationship between our internal worlds and the lives we live out loud.

In this workshop, you can expect to…

  • be introduced to (or receive an inspired refresher on) the nine energy centers present in the Human Design system

  • receive insights on the scientific (think: theoretical physics + neuroscience) and energetic (think: practical-woo) operations of self-talk.

  • be guided through a practice of discovery with prompts.

  • have time for self-reflection and writing.

  • receive invitations to share mindset shifts.

  • learn a creative practice that transmutes friction to fuel.

You walk away with…

  • enriched insights about Human Design.

  • clarity about the intersections of science and mysticism

  • a series of prompts you can return to any time for support

  • a series of statements that support each energy center of your body

  • a quick creative activity designed to transform friction into fuel for flow

You'll bring...

  • a journal.

  • your favorite pen/pencil.

  • an attitude geared toward curiosity.

This workshop is for you if…

  • you are curious about Human Design

  • you are curious about the science-mysticism intersection

  • you welcome a fresh, facilitated and shared perspective on uncovering internal friction, meeting it with radical compassion and honesty

  • you are well-supported outside of the workshop by one or a combination of therapists, support groups, mentors, family, or friends

This workshop is not for you if…

  • you don’t welcome astrology, practical-woo, or Human Design into your self-care praxis

  • you don’t feel ready for a facilitated and group environment for self-exploration.

  • you feel unsure about the type of support you can lean on outside of this workshop

  • you are seeking 1:1 therapy, or group therapy

  • you are in crisis

It is ABSOLUTELY alright if now isn't the right time; this workshop will come around again!

A few notes…

All SUNSOAKED workshops are bias-aware and trauma-informed: grounded in research, Briġet's personal practice, and systems she has shared with clients, contemporaries, and friends, who have reported positive results in their personal and professional lives. Each workshop is created specifically for SUNSOAKED without the use of AI.

Briġet is not a therapist.

We brave the unknown around here.

Community care agreement:

We apply these agreements to how we engage with people outside ourselves and how we engage our inward experiences.

Care for each other
Care for ourselves

We will share our experiences and hold others' experiences in high regard.

I hold my own experiences in high regard.

We recognize that emotion comes in waves.

I recognize that my own emotions come in waves.

We recognize that life is not linear.

I recognize my life as non-linear.

We agree that any personal stories shared by others are not personal attacks on us.

I recognize where my story ends, and another’s begins.

We will not engage in comparison.

I reject comparison when I am tending my internal world.

We will respectfully remove ourselves from any conversation or interaction we choose.

I respect my needs and know when I’ve had enough. It is okay to walk away and return to this work another day, in another way.

We will respect anyone's choice to leave a conversation or interaction with us.

I recognize that when I’ve been ruminating long enough, it is okay to take a break.

If/when you/someone needs a break or wants to leave the facilitated group setting, you/they may go without explanation. You/they are also welcome back without explanation.

I give myself permission to take a break and know that I am welcome back when I am ready.

For safety, the front door will be locked from the inside during the workshop. If you need to leave the space, you can signal quietly at the door, and I’ll assist without requiring conversation.
