ECHOES OF EACH OTHER

  • Femme Fatale DC 3409 Connecticut Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20008 United States (map)

Join Pass the Mic Poetry July 14th, 2022 from 6:30-9:30pm for lineup performers and an open mic exploring the ways we echo each other.

Becoming is an act of learning and unlearning the world around us. As we build images of ourselves, our hopes, our mistakes, our potentials, we find pieces of our reality in other people. This alchemy is what creates community in all its forms and it is a process of as much pain as it is beauty. No one is absent of impact or effect and no one is alone -- you only need to be handed the opportunity to explore it in order to be seen. This event focuses on the ideas of connection & reflection: your family, your childhood crush, your mentors, your selves, your memories.

Join Pass the Mic Poetry @femmefataledc July 14th, 2022 from 6:30-9:30pm for performance exploring the ways we echo each other. Witness a lineup of poets performing in mirrored duos and spit on an open mic to tell us about who you echo (and who echoes you).

Event takes place just off the Cleveland Park stop on the Metro red line. Space is wheelchair accessible in the store and across gravel in the event area. There is a single gender-neutral bathroom (no urinal) and amplification for speakers. No sensory areas or interpreters currently provided.
